Mental Prep & Tips

MEPS is the gateway to service. Doctors will check your vision, hearing, and joint mobility to ensure you're medically fit. It's a long day, but it's just a series of standard physical checks to clear you for duty.

  • Sleep: Get 8 hours. You need your brain sharp.
  • Hydration: Drink water. Avoid caffeine and energy drinks.
  • Honesty: Tell the truth. Disclosure prevents legal issues later.
  • Documents: IDs, medical records, and social security card ready.

Army: 10 Weeks
Navy: 10 Weeks
Air Force: 8.5 Weeks
Marines: 13 Weeks

Basic training is 90% mental. Focus on the next meal, don't take yelling personally, and support your bunkmates. Physical fitness is easier if your mind is locked on the goal.

TIME IS THE ONLY CLEAR

Drug Clearance Standards: No gimmicks, detox drinks, or 'hacks' work for a military-grade screen. Clearly stated: NO drugs should be used. Only time allows your body to naturally clear substances for a successful enlistment.
